New York City’s Fifth Avenue became one big rainbow Sunday as more than a million people marched and watched one of the biggest Gay Pride celebrations in America. New York’s parade commemorates the June 28, 1969 Stonewall Riots – a series of spontaneous, violent LGBT demonstrations against a police crackdown on the gay patrons at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwhich Village 45 years ago.
